Oliver Hilton was born in Eastleigh, U.K. in 1974. Growing up with two older brothers, meant that he was often relegated to staring out of the window on long car journeys while they got the important jobs like map reading or giving directions and, as a result, he started to notice the changing landscapes that he now loves to paint.

Having always related to the world around him in an incredibly visual way, drawing and art became a passion of his from a very early age and continues to be so. He pursued an education in art from the age of sixteen and specialised in graphic design at Newcastle School of Art and Design.

He co-founded a design company in 2002 and has worked for clients as diverse as the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification), Nintendo and The National Trust.

Oliver draws inspiration from the fens of East Anglia where he now lives with his young family and his landscape paintings are in many private collections.
